HBG Fishing

Let’s bring in the New Year with an exciting outdoor activity! Fishing!!! January 19th is a Monday, but it is also the day we honor Martin Luther King Jr. Come join us on this holiday for a fun day of fishing with your family at Ho’omaluhia Botanical Gardens. We will have a special guest speaker stopping by to share with us some history of Ho’omaluhia as well as a BSA Angling Instructor to teach us basic practical fishing skills.
Some things to know before you go:
- Bring your own snacks/lunch and drinks (water, juice, soda).
- Bring a chairs or a blanket to sit on. There are also a few picnic tables in the area. NO CANOPIES ALLOWED.
- Fishing poles and bait will be provided (come to the Pack meeting on the 16th to build your own pole!).
- You may bring your own hand poles and fishing gear. NO CASTING ALLOWED.
- NO SWIMMING ALLOWED.
- The restrooms should have soap, but you should bring some hand sanitizer just in case to clean up before you eat and when you are finished and heading home.
- ALL participants (adults and youth) fishing must sign the Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability Agreement. Consenting adults will sign on behalf of the youth participants. This document can be signed at the January Pack meeting or at Ho’omaluhia upon arrival.
- Parking is limited so please consider carpooling if possible.
